Telangana Topper Aishwarya suicide case: People on Social media wants justice for Aishwarya

Aishwarya’s suicide case has sparked widespread protests demanding justice for her and her death has been branded as ‘institutional murder’ on social media.

According to the source, Aishwarya, a Mathematics student of Lady Shri Ram College for Women in Delhi who committed suicide on November 3.

She wrote a suicide note where she said, she did not want to be a burden on her family and did not want a life without education.

She was receiving the INSPIRE scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

However, her scholarship was delayed by the government since March, which put her and her family under extreme financial pressure, said the report citing a statement issued by the Student’s Federation of India (SFI).

Aishwarya told that her family could not expenditure on data packs for online classes which already placed an extra financial burden on her family. She further mentioned that she could not give her best to her studies as she did not have a laptop and study material was not available to her.

The issue of suicide is causing a stir on social media with the hashtag #JusticeForAishwarya, with many of them citing the incompetence of the central government.

On of them Karnataka’s National Campaign In-charge, Youth Congress Mr. Srivatsa Twitted on her verified account and said, ”
