Sara Ali Khan turns into a freedom fighter in Ae Watan Mere Watan; watch the teaser

Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan will soon be seen playing a freedom fighter in her upcoming Prime Video original movie ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’.

On Monday, the makers of the film shared the first-look video of Sara’s character from the film.

Sharing the teaser of ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ Amazon Prime Video wrote, “an ode to India’s freedom struggle. #AeWatanMereWatan, new Amazon Original Movie – now filming. #AeWatanMereWatanOnPrime (sic).”

The Ae Watan Mere Watan teaser shows Sara in a retro look from the pre-Independence era. She is seen in a sari, pulling down all curtains in a room before she sits down to assemble a radio-like device. As she begins to speak on the radio, she shares the message of Independence with the entire nation until she is interrupted by the incessant banging at the door.

A Dharmatic Entertainment Production, the movie is being produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, with Somen Mishra serving as the co-producer. It is directed by Kannan Iyer and written jointly by Darab Farooqui and Kannan Iyer.

The thriller-drama inspired by true events, Ae Watan Mere Watan, follows the intrepid journey of a college girl in Bombay who goes on to become a freedom fighter. This fictional tale is set against the backdrop of the Quit India Movement in 1942. It is a story about the courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and resourcefulness of the youth of the nation.
