Ranju Ki Betiyaan’s tryst with kacchi kairi

Mumbai: The summer may have ended but mangoes will always have its own sweet spot. And while they continue to be everyone’s favourite, one’s love for raw mangoes will also never fade away. Well, this is exactly what the cast of Ranju ki Betiyaan is up to these days! They can’t seem to stay away from mangoes, raw mangoes, aam panna and even aam ras for that matter. Aarushi Sharma who plays Muskaan, Ranju’s daughter in Dangal TV’s show, spills out secrets on what really unfolds behind the scenes and in their free time. It seems like the team is really having fun with lots and lots of kacchi kairi.
Sharing her excitement and thrill about how it all began, Aarushi says, “The resort we are at is surrounded by greenery and we have a lot of mango trees in the garden. As it’s the end of the season, we all were getting cravings. Usually, after the hectic shoots, we all used to pack-up and sit to chit-chat in the garden. Recently we noticed that there were a lot of mangoes that are yet on the trees. We all quickly plucked around 3-4 of them, cut them into slices, added some chat masala and black salt, and enjoyed the delicious kaachi kairi. It was so satisfying to eat the kairi especially after working all day long. It somehow also got us nostalgic and reminded us of Mumbai.
Speaking about the endless kacchi kairi moments with her co-stars and colleagues Aarushi adds, “The entire Ranju family is present. We sit on the grass, gaze at the moon and enjoy our bit. One funny incident that recently happened was, while we were plucking mangoes, the watchman saw us and came there. As soon as we saw him, we ran from there and disappeared in a fraction of a second. So, we’ve now decided, to pluck around nighttime, so that no one spots us (laughs).”
Summers might have gone but there’s no time when you cannot enjoy raw mangoes.
