Mi TV Webcam launched in India with support for making 1080p video calls

The Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam has launched in India today. It has arrived as the company’s first accessory for its smart TVs. The product is quite similar to the recently unveiled OnePlus TV Camera.

The Mi TV Webcam lets users make Full HD video calls by attaching it to any Android TV, laptop, or desktop. It comes with a magnetic clip and has a USB-Type C port for connectivity. One of the major highlights of the Mi TV Webcam is that it comes with a privacy shutter.

According to the company, the Mi TV Webcam enables video calls via Google Duo. It features a 2MP sensor that supports 1080p video recording at 25fps. The camera also comes with dual stereo microphones that are capable of capturing audio from a distance of up to four meters. The device features a 3D image noise reduction algorithm that is said to help reduce picture grain.

For privacy, the Mi TV Webcam ships with a physical shutter that can be placed over the lens and a USB Type-C port for connectivity. It is compatible with any Android TV/streaming box running on Android TV 8 or above, and it can be also used with laptops and desktops running on macOS / Windows 7 or later.

Mi TV Webcam price in India:

The Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam is priced at Rs 1,999 in India. It will be available for purchase through Mi.com, Mi Home Studio, and Mi Store app starting from 12 pm on June 28th.
