JioPhone Next launch postponed, know the actual reason

JioPhone Next 4G smartphone will be launch before Diwali, Reliance Jio announced late on Thursday night. The affordable smartphone was initially scheduled to be launched on September 10 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Jio and Google said the companies have made “considerable progress” towards launching the smartphone.

The reason behind the delay appears to be related to the global semiconductor chip shortage, which has impacted the automobile, PC, and smartphone industries. “This additional time will also help mitigate the current industry-wide, global semiconductor shortages, Jio and Google said in a joint statement.”

Reliance Jio had in June announced the September 10 launch date for the phone and said that it was being developed with Google and would bring smartphone features such as Android and the Play Store, but at the price of a feature phone. Although the company had not announced a specific price for the JioPhone Next, a leak suggested that it may cost Rs. 3,499, or $50.

Users will also be able to check the latest cricket scores and weather updates, ask Google Assistant to play music on Jio Saavn, or check their balance on My Jio.

However, till now the price of the JioPhone Next 4G smartphone has not yet been revealed.
