Deepika Padukone to be part of Cannes 2022 Film Festival Jury

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will be a part of the jury for the 75th edition of the Cannes film festival. Festival De Cannes on Tuesday announced its jury. French actor Vincent Lindon is named as the President of the jury. The Cannes Film Festival will begin on May 17 this year.
Other members of the Cannes 2022 jury are – English actress Rebecca Hall, Noomi Rapace from Sweden, and filmmakers Jasmine Trinca from Italy, Asghar Farhadi from Iran, Ladj Ly from France, and Jeff Nichols from the United States, and Joachim Trier from Norway.
The official Twitter handle of Festival de Cannes has announced the Jury name and wrote, “French actor Vincent Lindon is the Jury President of the 75th Festival de Cannes! Along with his eight jury members, he will reward one of the 21 films in Competition with the Palme d’or, on Saturday May 28, during the Closing Ceremony. #Cannes2022 (sic).”

Deepika also shared this on her Instagram Stories after the unveiling of the Cannes jury.
Some of the films that will be screened at Cannes 2022 include David Cronenberg’s dystopian sci-fi drama Crimes of the Future, starring Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, and Viggo Mortensen; the mystery thriller Decision to Leave by South Korean director Park Chan-wook (Oldboy); and Showing Up from First Cow filmmaker Kelly Reichardt, which stars Michelle Williams.
