Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra to release in cinemas on Sep 9, 2022

After several Covid-induced delays, Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Brahmastra’ has finally got a release date. The film is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and it will release in theatres on September 9, 2022.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced Brahmasta’s release date on Twitter. He wrote, “’BRAHMASTRA’: 9 SEPT 2022 IN CINEMAS… While on #Brahmastra, the much-awaited biggie arrives on the BIG SCREEN on 9 Sept 2022… The FIRST PART of the *3-part film franchise* will release in *five* #Indian languages: #Hindi, #Tamil, #Telugu, #Malayalam and #Kannada… In #3D (sic).”

Based on Indian mythology, the story is constructed as a trilogy with the first part following the protagonist Shiva (Kapoor), who is in love with Isha (Bhatt). Their lives are changed forever when Shiva learns that he has a mysterious connection to the Brahmastra and a great power within him that he doesn’t understand just yet – the power of fire.

The ‘Brahmastra’ trilogy is produced by Fox Star Studios, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures.

Apart from Alia and Ranbir, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and Dimple Kapadia play important roles in this film.
