Xiaomi gives clarification on status of banned in the USA
Xiaomi today (January 15, 2021) has released a statement on Twitter clarifying the situation with banned in the USA.
As per the tweet by Xiaomi’s Twitter account, “The company has been in compliance with the law and operating in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations of jurisdictions where it conducts its businesses.” Xiaomi reiterates that it provides products and services for civilian and commercial use.

“The company confirms that it is not owned, controlled, or affiliated with the Chinese military, and is not a “Communist Chinese Military Company” defined under section 1237 of the National Defense Authorization Act for the fiscal year 1999 (the NDAA). The company will take [an] appropriate course of actions to protect the interests of the company and its shareholders.”
Further, the spokesperson adds that Xiaomi is “reviewing the potential consequences of this to develop a fuller understanding of its impact on the Group.” We can expect the company to share more about the situation in the coming days.
