Apple WWDC 2021 The annual Apple developer conference, WWDC 2021, kicks off today. Just like last year, this year’s edition of Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference will be held virtually – owing to the coronavirus pandemic. Apple will make a host of announcements ranging from updates on its existing services to new versions of its software. Apart from services and software, the company is also rumored to launch a new MacBook Pro at the event.

The WWDC 2021 keynote will begin at 10 am PDT (10:30 pm IST) today. It will be live-streamed from Apple’s campus in California and will be available for access through Apple’s YouTube channel

It will also be streamed through the Apple.com website, Apple TV app, and the Apple Developer app.

What to expect at WWDC 2021:

Apple is expected to make a list of software-centric announcements at the WWDC 2021 keynote. These announcements are expected to include iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS 12, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15. All these new software updates are speculated to bring various improvements over their existing versions.

iOS 15

iPhone users can expect a preview of the next iteration of Apple’s operating system. Dubbed iOS 15, the next OS update will bring improved messaging functionality and UI tweaks for a better user experience. Apple may also double down on privacy features with the new update.

iPadOS 15

The WWDC keynote will also bring iPadOS 15 that could bring changes to the home screen of the tablets to better align with newer hardware. Apple’s iPad Pro users are also likely to be taken into consideration for the new iPadOS version.

Beyond updates to iOS 15 and macOS 12, According to rumors, Apple will unveil a new MacBook Pro with the M2 chip. The company is said to showcase new MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch models. There are also speculations that Apple might hold off M2 for 2022 and instead launch the device with a new chip ‘M1X’.
