WhatsApp rolls out paid subscription service for business users

Meta-owned messaging service WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling out the ‘WhatsApp Premium’ service for business accounts.

With WhatsApp Premium, businesses will get advanced features such as a better way to be reached by customers and some improvements when linking new devices, according to WABetaInfo.

As per the report, WhatsApp is releasing a subscription plan for certain businesses that install the latest beta version of the Android and iOS app available on the Play Store and TestFlight.

WhatsApp Premium is an optional premium plan available for certain business accounts they can join by opening WhatsApp Settings.

The paid version of the app will also allow up to 10 devices simultaneously connected to the same account. Lastly, users can make a video call with up to 32 participants.

Since the functionality is still in beta, WhatsApp hasn’t come forward with an official statement or announcement, so the pricing or the launch date of the new subscription service is not yet known.
