WhatsApp is rolling out status updates for desktop beta, check the details

Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is releasing new status updates within the chat list features for desktop beta users. The feature, which is already available on iPhone and Android beta users, is now being rolled out for desktop clients for testing. Users can now view the status updates within the chat list, according to WABetaInfo.

The new view status updates within the chat list features are available on the desktop beta version 2.2246.6.

Earlier, if a desktop user wanted to check status updates by their contacts, he had to click on the ‘status’ option on the left top side. However, now with the new feature, the green circle/ring that signifies a status update, will be visible in the chat option and once a user clicks on it, the status update will play on the app screen.

As you can see in the below photo, it is now easy to discover if the feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account. If the ring is visible around the profile photo within the chat, then you have received the update. In case the feature is not available for your account, just keep your version of WhatsApp up to date to get the feature.

“The ability to view status updates within the chat list has been released to some users and it will be rolled out to more people over the coming weeks,” the report also said.

Moreover, recently WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp rolls out a new feature to search messages by date on the iOS beta.
