Veteran singer Bhupinder Singh passes away at 82

Veteran playback singer Bhupinder Singh passed away on July 18 at a Mumbai hospital. He was 82. As per the report, he passed away due to suspected colon cancer.

The singer was undergoing treatment related to several health complications at a Mumbai hospital for the past 9 days. He had been ailing for a long time.

Following his demise, the internet as well as fans flooded Twitter with condolence messages and paid their last respects to the veteran singer.

Several celebrities such as Ajay Devgn, Vishal Dadlani, and Shekhar Suman expressed their shock and grief at Singh’s passing away.

The Singham actor shared a photo of the singer on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Deeply saddened about the demise of Bhupinder ji. His voice brought joy to millions and had an uniqueness. Condolences to his family. RIP Bhupinder Ji (sic).”

Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani took to Twitter to express his grief and wrote, “In memoriam #BhupinderSingh ji. A with a voice from a gentler time. Tragically poetic that he should follow Lataji, as he did so beautifully in the song #NaamGumJaayega composed by #RDBurman and written by Gulzarsaab. Unki awaaz hi pehchaan hai, aur hamesha yaad rahegi (sic).”

Shekhar Suman wrote, “Dil dhoondta hai phir wohi fursat ke raat din..the man with the velvet voice..Bhupendra Singh is no more…RIP (sic).”

Bhupinder Singh was a renowned Ghazal singer and some of his best-known songs included Hoke Majboor Mujhe Usne Bulaya Hoga, Naam gum jayega, Dil Dhoondta hai, Meethe bol bole, Ek akela is Shehar Mein, Do diwane shahar mein, Karoge yaad to, Kabhi kisi ko mukammal among many others.
