Twitter launches live cricket scorecard, announces first community in India for cricket fans

Twitter on Thursday has launched a live cricket scorecard and extended its Communities feature to India. This new feature will give Cricket fans in India access to a scorecard that will update them about the latest scores from an ongoing cricket match.
The updates from the microblogging platform come in the midst of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 tournament that kicked off earlier this week and will go on until November 14.
Twitter India said that during a match, the scorecard will appear on the Explore tab and live Events Page. Fans will be able to follow the scores from the match in real-time while scrolling through Tweets. This means that when fans on Twitter are engaging in real-time match conversation, they won’t have to go anywhere else to keep up with the score.
Twitter also announced the feature on its official Twitter India Twitter page. “Hey #CricketTwitter, we heard you. Introducing live cricket scorecards, so you don’t miss out on the action. To see live cricket scores, just tap the Sports tab on the Explore page,” Twitter India wrote in a post that was accompanied by a short video announcing the feature.

As far as the availability is concerned, Twitter India’s Live Cricket Scorecard will be available to everyone in India on iOS as well as the Web and will roll out to most people on Android.
The list of Twitter-related features doesn’t end there. Twitter said that in order to make the experience even better for Cricket fans on its platform, Twitter is also testing its first Community outside of the US dedicated to Indian cricket fans. This community is called Cricket Twitter – India and it is dedicated to talking about all things cricket in multiple Indian languages.
It currently has 25 members in total and interested users can follow this link to join the group. Similar to Facebook Groups, Communities on Twitter are made up of members who join and invite others to join. Tweets go out only to members of the community instead of all your followers. Community tweets are available for everyone to read, quote, tweet or report but only members can reply and join the conversation.
