Truecaller introduces ‘Family Plan’ with support for multiple users in India

Truecaller has introduced a ‘Family Plan’ for a subscription which allows a primary number to add up to four additional members to their plan.

The Truecaller Premium Family Plan is available to all users for Rs. 132 per month (or Rs. 925 per year).

“What does family mean to you? At #Truecaller, family can be whoever you like! Introducing Family Plan, the new Premium subscription where you invite 4 of your closest people to enjoy the upgraded protection of Truecaller Premium under one plan,” Truecaller tweeted.

“Family Plan is the newest way to get Truecaller Premium. Bring your nearest and dearest to your level of Premium spam protection, with 5 accounts in one plan,” the Swedish caller ID app said in an official statement.

‘Family Plan’ can only be purchased by Android users at the moment. However, they can add any non-premium users as part of their family, even if they use an iPhone. Existing Premium subscribers will need to upgrade to this plan if they want to add members to their plan. Customers have the option to choose a family of their choice including family members, friends, or colleagues.

The plan is currently available to all users around the world, except for the United States.

Launched in 2009, other than caller identification, Truecaller does a few more things like call blocking, incoming call detection, fraud SMS/call alert, and verification of contacts. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices and one can also access Truecaller on a web browser.

While there is a free-tier Truecaller that can be used without any subscription, the premium iteration of Truecaller comes with an ad-free user experience, the ability to see who viewed my profile, and a premium badge.

Similarly, there is also a Truecaller Premium Gold subscription that will show the caller ID in gold color, and this subscription costs Rs 4,999 per year. The regular Truecaller premium subscription costs Rs 79 per month and Rs 549 per year in India.
