Sisodia hails Delhi govt schools’ improved class 10 results
New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday congratulated students of the city’s government schools for showing an exemplary performance in the CBSE’s class 10 exams.
“Our children have made us proud again! After record breaking results of Class 12, the upward graph of Delhi Education continues in Class 10. Overjoyed that this year, result improved to 82.61 per cent from 71.58 per cent last year. Congratulations to Team Education. You have really raised the bar!” Sisodia, who also holds the Education portfolio, said in a series of tweets.
Delhi government schools have shown significant improvement at national and Delhi region level. The all-India result is 91.46 per cent in 2020 as against 91.10 per cent in 2019. The overall Delhi pass percentage also increased from 80.97 per cent to 85.86 per cent. Also, the girls have performed better than boys. The result of all the government schools is 80.91 per cent at national level as against 71.91 per cent in 2019.
“Compulsory board exam for Class 10 was introduced in 2018, since then Delhi government schools have an upward graph each year. In 2020 it is 82.6 per cent. In 2019, it was 71.6 per cent and in 2018 it was 68.9 per cent. Our schools recorded the highest improvement. Congrats to students, parents & Team Education to keep giving reasons to celebrate!” Sisodia added.
The pass percentage has also gone up by 11.03 per cent. Moreover, 147 schools achieved 100 per cent results against 60 last year (2019). A total of 474 schools achieved 90 per cent and above against 226 schools last year (2019).
The total government schools in 2020 is numbered 1,005, against 995 in 2019.
Pass percentage of girls was 86.62 per cent in 2020 as against 74.29 per cent last year, which is better than pass percentage of boys which is 78.33 per cent.
A total 789 Students of government schools scored 90 per cent and above in aggregate.
