Sanya Malhotra set to play a cop in upcoming Netflix comedy film ‘Kathal’

The popular streaming platform on Sunday announced they have roped in Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra for their next film ‘Kathal’ along with Anant Joshi.

The woman-led drama is the directorial debut of Yashowardhan Mishra, who has also penned the film along with veteran writer Ashok Mishra.

The official twitter handle of Netflix has the teaser of the film and wrote, “Gumshuda insaan ko dhoondna mushkil hai par gumshuda Kathal ko? Is hi mushkil case ko solve karne aa rahi hai @sanyamalhotra07 as Mahima in Kathal. #KathalOnNetflix (sic).”

As per Pinkvilla, the film, set in a small town, follows the story of a local politician whose prized jackfruits (‘Kathals’) go missing and a young police officer Mahima, played by Sanya Malhotra is on it. The case is important to Mahima as she wants to prove her mettle by solving it.

The movie has been produced by Guneet Monga, Ekta Kapoor, Achin Jain, Shobha Kapoor. Serving as co-producers are Nachiket Pantvaidya and Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh.

As per the report, this is the fourth time that Sanya Malhotra will collaborate with Netflix after ‘Ludo’, ‘Pagglait’ and ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar’.
