Randeep Hooda to play Veer Savarkar in a biopic directed by Mahesh Manjrekar

On the occasion of Shaheed Diwas, Randeep Hooda announced his next film, a biopic on the revolutionary freedom fighter, Veer Savarkar. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the film has been titled ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’.

Swatantra Veer Savarkar, in which Randeep Hooda will play the titular role, will be produced by Anand Pandit and Sandeep Singh. Randeep shared the news on social media with the producers and director Mahesh Manjrekar along with a black-and-white photo of himself.

He captioned the post, “Kuch kahaniyaan batayi jaati hai aur kuch jee jaati hain! Grateful, excited and honoured to be part of #SwatantraVeerSavarkar’s biopic (sic).”

‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ is produced by Anand Pandit from Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Sandeep Singh from Legend Studios and is co-produced by Roopa Pandit and Sam Khan. As per the report, the film is expected to go on floors in June 2022.

Meanwhile, on the Workfront, Randeep was last seen in last year’s Salman Khan-starrer Radhe, where he had a supporting role.
