The new Material Recovery Facility at Gokul Nagar can handle and process 2000 kgs of dry waste every day. It’s a first-of-its-kind MRF facility that has a 100% women-only workforce.

Speaking on the inauguration, Mr. Masood Mallick, Joint Managing Director, Ramky Enviro: “At Ramky Enviro, sustainability forms the bedrock of our business and founding principles. This new MRF facility responds to a number of Sustainability goals that we have set for ourselves. It contributes to the achievement of circular economy principles by recovering and recycling wastes, including plastic waste that is recycled to produce high-quality multi-purpose plastic bags for use in grocery shopping, storage of biomedical wastes, garbage disposal, and other forms of waste collection, etc. This is a stepping stone towards making Raipur a benchmark city in urban waste management and towards meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the state of Chattisgarh. We are also proud to announce that like some of our other operations that are aimed at mainstreaming women empowerment, this facility also will be operated by a 100% women team, across all levels and functions.”

Commenting on the plant inauguration, Sabhapati of Raipur, Shri Pramod Dubey, said, “The new Material Recovery Facility by Ramky Enviro is the first of its kind in our city. It is strategically designed to deal with 2000 kgs of dry waste every day. The fact that it is going to be operated by an all-women workforce is very inspiring and empowering for the city. We look forward to many such ventures by Ramky Enviro to help Raipur move the wheels of the circular economy.”

Operated 100% by a ‘women only’ workforce, this project is the first step in a big plan of making Raipur a benchmark city in waste management and circular economy.
