Ramesh Pokhriyal today attends the 18th convocation ceremony of SVNIT in Surat
Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal today took part in the 18th convocation ceremony of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology in Surat.
According to the Ministry of Education and its official Twitter handle, During this event, he congratulated the graduating students & the institute & said that he was happy that NIT Surat is named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The institute is fulfilling his dream of a unified India by admitting students from all States, he said.
Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal also spoke about Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi and his dream to establish India as the world leader in education in the next 5 years.
India’s technical institutions, including NITs, will have to play a key role in achieving this goal, he told the students.
Besides that, he also spoke about the various reforms of NEP2020 such as the National Research Foundation and National Educational Technology Forum. NEP will help the students to develop skills in multi-disciplinary research and their field of interest.

According to the SVNIT Official website, the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat is popularly known as the National Institute of Technology, Surat, NIT Surat or SVNIT, is an engineering institute of higher education established by the Parliament of India in 1961.
