Rahul Dravid will be the coach for Sri Lanka tour, confirms BCCI president Sourav Ganguly
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that Rahul Dravid will be the head coach of the Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour which set to start in July.
Confirming the development regarding the head coach, Ganguly told, “Rahul Dravid will be the coach for the India tour to Sri Lanka.” According to reports, Dravid will be accompanied by a few officials of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) as his assistant coaches on the tour. The BCCI had to give Dravid and his team the responsibility as the likes of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun, and Vikram Rathour are in the UK and will stay there till mid-September.
The Indian squad for the tour of Sri Lanka is already in Mumbai for their 14-days institutional quarantine. The series will begin with the first ODI between India and Sri Lanka on July 13. All of the 6 matches of the series will be played at a single venue, R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
