Oscars 2023: ‘RRR’s Naatu Naatu song shortlisted for the 95th Academy Awards

SS Rajamouli directed RRR’s popular song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been shortlisted for the Oscars 2023 under the Original Song category. Composed by Keeravani, Naatu Naatu created a record and grabbed the attention of the viewers. The Academy announced the list of shortlisted entries in 10 categories on Wednesday night. Following the announcement, RRR fans flooded social media with praise and excitement over the news.

Taking to Twitter, actor Ram Charan shared a gratitude post for their fans while thanking them for their outpour of love.

“What a historic moment for the entire Indian Film Industry… Couldn’t be more honoured to note that #NaatuNaatu becomes the first Indian song to be shortlisted for the Academy Awards! @ssrajamouli garu and @mmkeeravaani garu, it’s all your vision and magic..#RRRForOscars,” he caption the post.

Other than RRR, the Gujarat film Chhello Show was shortlisted in the International Feature Film category.

The Oscar Academy will announce the nominations on 24th January 2023 and the 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12, 2023, at Los Angeles’ Dolly Theatre.
