Mukesh Khanna and Sony Pictures team up to bring ‘Shaktimaan’ on the big screen

Sony Pictures India on Thursday announced it will back the film adaptation of the popular superhero TV show ‘Shaktimaan’. The Iconic TV show ran on Doordarshan in 1997. The series ran for nearly 450 episodes and had a massive fan following, especially among children.
The studio made an announcement on Thursday by releasing a special video. The official Twitter account of Sony Pictures India shared a one-minute announcement video, teasing Gangadhar’s iconic specs, his camera, and finally the big reveal: the costume of ‘Shaktimaan’.

As per the report, actor-producer Mukesh Khanna’s (the original ‘Shaktimaan’) Bheeshm International has joined forces with Sony Pictures International Productions and Brewing Thoughts Private Limited to work towards the recreation of the superhero that once ruled Indian television. However, the name of the director is yet to be revealed.
Starring Mukesh Khanna in the title role, it featured an ensemble cast of Kitu Gidwani, Vaishnavi, Surendra Pal, and Tom Alter.
