Maoists kill one person in Jharkhand
Ranchi, April 20 (IANS) : Maoist guerrillas killed one person on suspicion of being a police informer in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum early on Monday, police said.
According to Police, Raj Kishore Gope was shot dead by the banned Maoist group, CPI-Maoist at Bhalurungi village situated in the Sonua police station area of West Singhbhum district. The CPI-Maoist has claimed the killing.
The Maoists said that Raj Kishore was a police informer and he has been punished.
According to his family members, Raj Kishore used to sell chickens in the village. He had gone to bring chickens to sell when he was abducted by the Maoists and his bullet-riddled body was found on Monday.
Police has sent the body for post-mortem.
Maoist guerrillas are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
