Instagram Is Likely To Test New Repost Feature With Selected Users
Meta-owned photo-oriented social media platform Instagram is reportedly to begin testing a new feature called Repost where users could be able to repost content of other users through their account.
Social media consultant Matt Navarra first spotted Instagram’s new feature and posted a screenshot on Twitter where a repost tab can be seen.
For now, the most used method to repost or share posts is to add the post to their story. There it stays for 24 hours. If this new feature comes in place, users would be able to share those to the user’s main feed.
According to an IANS report, Instagram would soon start testing the new feature with the users.
A meta spokesperson confirmed the news to TechCrunch via e-mail where they mentioned “We’re exploring the ability to reshare posts in Feed – similar to how you can reshare in Stories – so people can share what resonates with them, and so original creators are credited for their work.”
However, a similar type of feature already exists with the micro-blogging site Twitter and the most popular short-video sharing platform TikTok.
