India tour of Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka vs India ODI series to start from July 18

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Saturday confirmed that the upcoming limited-overs series between Sri Lanka and India will start from July 18.

Earlier, it was supposed to start from July 13, but now it has been rescheduled due to the outbreak of Covid-19 in the home team camp.

Sri Lanka’s batting coach Grant Flower tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday after which all the squad members and support staff were tested again, the results of which came out on Friday, and it was revealed that their video analyst GT Niroshan also contracted the virus. However, sources in the Sri Lankan cricket board have said that all the Sri Lankan players who came back from England have tested negative.

Meanwhile, the second-string Indian team, which is being led by opener Shikhar Dhawan with Rahul Dravid as head coach, has completed its hard quarantine and has been training in Colombo.
