India And Japan Sign MoU To Enhance Cooperation In Information And Communications Technology Sector

Union Minister for Communications, Electronics, and IT Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad and Takeda Ryota, Japanese Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, exchanged the MoU through a Friday video conference.
Union Minister stated making the connection between Andaman & Nicobar Islands through submarine optical fiber cable with great timing is an excellent example of cooperation between Japan and India.
He also added the quick assumption of various digital technologies during the challenging Covid Pendamic situation. He took examples of the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System in Indian Post, AarogyaSetu app to provide more detailed Coronavirus information.
Further, Ravi Shankar Prasad urged Japanese electronics companies to invest in the 5G technology-based services.
