First digital Model Conference of Parties on May 22
New Delhi, May 19 (IANS) The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) India in association with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change will host the first digital Model Conference of Parties (MCOP) on May 22-23 with an aim to put the power of decision making in the hands of children.
The MCOP 2020 aims to provide an opportunity to the future leaders to gain knowledge and experience in environmental problem solving.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar will be the chief guest. It will also be attended by experts on conservation and sustainable business and grassroots level organisations working in the field of environment.
At the end of the MCOP, the young conservationists will present the “Delhi Declaration 2020”, listing the ways how to take these dialogues forward in their respective states and involving the administration to act.
These actions will determine the future of environment in not just states that these brilliant young minds hail from, but for the country as well.
The WWF’s partners — United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Environment Programme and National Biodiversity Authority — will also be associated with the event.
