Earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hits Ladakh

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolts the Ladakh region on Friday afternoon.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake hit the Union territory at 4.27 pm (IST). The epicenter of the quake was 129 kilometers northeast of Leh and it originated at the depth of 10 kilometers.

According to posts shared by local residents in Leh, the tremors have caused cracks in buildings. However, there have been no reports yet of any injuries or damages to properties.
