Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tests positive for Covid-19, goes into home-isolation

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Twitter on Tuesday that he has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19). The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief is isolated at home.

“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid me in last few days, kindly isolate urself and get urself tested,” Kejriwal tweeted.

The AAP chief has undertaken many trips to poll-bound states like Uttarakhand and Punjab to campaign for his party. AAP is looking to emerge as a formidable force in both the elections.

On Monday, he addressed AAP’s ‘Nav Parivartan Yatra’ at Parade Ground in Dehradun.

Delhi has reported a rising positivity rate with 4,099 new cases in 24 hours on Monday.

According to an official statement, the positivity rate in Delhi is 6.46 percent. As many as 6,288 COVID-19 patients are in home isolation.

Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal will hold a meeting with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Tuesday to decide what steps should be taken to prevent infection in the capital.
