Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Ponniyin Selvan Part One teaser out

The much-awaited teaser of Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan-Part 1 has been released. The teaser was unveiled by the makers and star cast in Chennai on July 8.

The film production house Lyca Productions tweeted the teaser and wrote “The Cholas Are Coming! #PS1Teaser #PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada! (sic).”

More than a minute-long teaser shows larger-than-life war sequences, ravishing Aishwarya, magnificent Chiyaan Vikram, and more. The film revolves around the power struggle of the Chola empire during the 10th century.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan – Part 1 has a stellar cast including Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prabhu, Parthiban, and Prakash Raj.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is based on a historical fiction novel of the same name, written by author Kalki Krishnamurthy. The novel tells the story of Rajaraja Chola I of the Chola dynasty.

The first part of the film is set to hit the big screens on September 30 this year in five languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
