boAt Iris smartwatch launch in India with up to 7-days battery life

The leading electronic brand boAt has unveiled its latest smartwatch ‘boAt Iris’ in the Indian market. The boAt smartwatch comes with a high-definition round AMOLED display and also has leather and silicone straps.

Taking to its Twitter handle boAt tweeted, “Tick, tock, tick, tock! Time’s running out to #SwitchOvertotheBrightSide and grab #WatchIris at an incredible launch price of 4,499 (sic).”

On the launch of their latest wearable, Aman Gupta, Co-Founder, and CMO, Imagine Marketing said, “Smartwatches have become the fastest growing wearable category this past quarter as per the latest IDC data and we are happy to be announcing the brand’s very first AMOLED smartwatch. boAt Iris is our most premium smartwatch in the market and we are looking forward to a positive reception from all our boAt heads.”

The new boAt Iris smartwatch price is set at R 4,999 in India. Customers can purchase the wearable starting today (December 23) from the company’s website, and Flipkart. The smartwatch comes in Active Black, Flaming Red, and Navy-Blue color options.

boAt Iris smartwatch specifications and features:

The smartwatch features a 1.39-inch AMOLED round display. It features a screen resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The Boat Watch Iris also claims to offer multiple watch faces to the user.

The Boat Watch Iris has a heart rate sensor, along with a SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring sensor and a gyroscope. It has 8 different sports modes which include walking, running, cycling, swimming, skipping, badminton, football, and basketball.

In terms of other features, the Watch Iris will also relay smartphone notifications, including call notifications. However, making voice calls would not be possible through the smartwatch. The Boat Watch Iris also has an IP68 rating, which makes it sweat, splash, and dust resistant. In terms of battery life, the smartwatch claims to offer up to 7 days of battery backup.
