Bison Killed and Its Meat Eaten in Bengal Village, 1 Arrested

The Forest Department has arrested a man, identified as Somra Munda, for killing an Indian bison and eaten its meat in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district.

According to the media report, the incident was happened in Tilabari village near the Gorumara forest on Wednesday, a senior official said.

The forest department got the news of the whole incident through secret sources. Reportedly, a sniffer dog Orlando from Gorumara National Park was used to track the accused.

On this incident, the Forest Minister said, “What happened in Gorumara is highly reprehensible. One person has been arrested. Others will also be arrested. No one will be discounted. Strict action will be taken. ”

As well as, Janmanjay Pal, ADFO of the Gorumara Wildlife Department, stated that they recovered raw as well as cooked bison meat from the accused’s house. A search is being conducted to find the others involved in the incident.
