Bihar extends lockdown till August 16

Patna, July 29 (IANS) With the continuous rise in the number of corona-infected persons in Bihar, the state government has extended the lockdown till August 16. According to the order by the Home department of the Bihar government, except for some provisions of the lockdown, all other provisions will remain in force.

All educational institutions and religious places will remain closed during the lockdown. All political and cultural events will also be banned. However, permission has been granted to open public parks for a specified time.

Earlier, a meeting of senior state officials was held following which the decision to extend the lockdown was made. The lockdown in the state from July 16 was due to end on July 31.

In the last few days, more than 2,000 corona-infected persons have been identified. The number of corona-infected persons in the state has exceeded 45,000.
