Atal Bihari Vajpayee Birthday: PM Modi and President pays tribute on his 96th birth anniversary

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the former BJP prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 96th birth anniversary.

Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Piyush Goyal also paid floral tribute at ‘President Kovind pays floral tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee at ‘Sadaiv Atal Samadhi’ on former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s 96th birth anniversary.

In memory of the late BJP stalwart and to enable the people to pay their respects, Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, where Vajpayee was cremated with full state honors on August 17, 2018, was developed as ‘Sadaiv Atal’.

“He took the country to unprecedented heights of development. His efforts to build a strong and prosperous India will always be remembered,” PM tweeted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release a book titled ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Parliament: A Commemorative Volume’ to mark the 96th birth anniversary of the former prime minister on Friday.

The book, published by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, highlights the life and works of the former Prime Minister and contains his notable speeches delivered in Parliament.

The book also contains some rare photographs from his public life. PM Modi will pay floral tributes to the former Prime Minister at his portrait, which was unveiled on February 12, 2019, in the Central Hall of the Parliament.

The day is also observed as Good Governance Day. The book will be released at a function in the Central Hall of Parliament.
