Arjun Tendulkar scores century on Ranji Trophy debut

Arjun Tendulkar scored a century for Goa against Rajasthan on his first-class debut at the Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Porvorim, on Wednesday.
Playing for Goa against Rajasthan, Arjun came into bat at No.7 with the team’s score at 201/54 in 81.3 overs on Day 1. The southpaw closed the day at four not out of 15 balls. On the second day, the left-hander completed his century off 178 balls with the help of 12 fours and two sixes.
Earlier this year, Arjun made a move to Goa after not being able to get a lot of opportunities for Mumbai cricket.
He played two matches for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, after which he was picked to play for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
However, to his dismay, he hasn’t gotten a chance to play in a single match for the Rohit Sharma-led five-time IPL champions.
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar, who made his Ranji Trophy debut in 1988, scored a century on debut for Mumbai against Gujarat. Sachin was 15 at that time. 34 years later, his son repeated the feat.
