Alia Bhatt cheers for husband Ranbir Kapoor as ‘Shamshera’ releases

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited film ‘Shamshera’ finally hit the big screens on Friday (July 22). Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film has been receiving mixed responses from fans and critics.

Now wife Alia Bhatt shared a special post for Ranbir and requested fans to go watch the full-on masala entertainer.

Alia shared a new no-makeup selfie and called July 22 ‘Kapoor day’. In the snap, Alia can be seen wearing a T-shirt that reads ‘Kapoor’. Sharing the picture, Alia wrote, “It’s Kapoor Day! Shamshera in theatres NOW!!!! Go watch (sic).”

Produced by Yash Raj Films, ‘Shamshera’ also stars Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Ronit Roy, and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles.

The film is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian Daroga Shudh Singh played by Sanjay Dutt. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader, and then a legend for his tribe.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt will be making her Hollywood debut with Gal Gadot in ‘Heart of Stone’. She will be soon seen in ‘Brahmastra’ with Ranbir. It is their first film after marriage. She also has ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Ranveer Singh.
