Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu to release in theatres instead of OTT, makers confirm
Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer “Ram Setu” is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Over the past few days, speculation was rife that ‘Ram Setu’ may skip the theatrical release in favor of an OTT release. Some reports claimed that the lackluster performance of Akshay’s recent films ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ and ‘Bachchhan Paandey’ might be the reason behind this. However, now Ram Setu’s producer Vikram Malhotra has dismissed all these reports.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Friday that the film’s producer Vikram Malhotra has clarified that the film will release in theatres only. Taran’s tweet read, “RAM SETU’: IN CINEMAS, *NOT* OTT… #RamSetu – starring #AkshayKumar – will release in *cinemas*, NOT on any digital platform, as speculated on social media… “#RamSetu will celebrate #Diwali 2022 in theatres, as committed,” producer #VikramMalhotra sets the record straight (sic).”

The movie is said to be about an archaeologist investigating the mystery. The film is based on the miraculous bridge between India and Sri Lanka mentioned in the Ramayana. Apart from Akshay, the film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha and is helmed by Abhishek Sharma. The film is set to release on October 24, around Diwali.
