Actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passes away due to COVID-19 complications

Popular TV and film actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal has passed away due to COVID-19. The 52-year-old actor took his last breath on May 1.

A retired army officer, Bikramjeet was well known for his supporting roles in television shows and Bollywood movies. Several fans and celeb friends expressed shock over the sudden and untimely demise of the noted actor.

Manoj Bajpayee took to Twitter and expressed his shock over Bikramjeet’s demise. He wrote, “Oh my god!!! What a sad news !!! We knew each other for 14 yrs since the making of 1971 ! REST IN PEACE MAJOR !!! So Shocking (sic)!!!”

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit mourned the loss of the actor on Twitter and wrote, “Sad to hear about the demise of actor Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal this morning due to #Covid. A retired army officer, Kanwarpal had played supporting roles in many films and television serials. Heartfelt condolences to his family & near ones (sic).”

Mourning over his death, Vikram Bhatt who had worked with him in several of his films, wrote, “Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passes away. Taken from us by the cruel pandemic. I have done a lot of films with him and this doesn’t get closer home. The days are turning into one long obituary and yet each life that we lose cannot be just a number. We cannot allow it to become a number. Each a special friend. May his soul rest in peace. #covid #covid19 #covidindia (sic).”

Actor Rohit Bose Roy also took to his Twitter handle to express his grief too. Sharing one of his pictures, the actor wrote, “And we lose another one… The happiest, most gentlemanly, always positive and smiling Major Bikramjeet… RIP (sic).”

Bikramjeet Kanwarpal entered the showbiz world in 2003. He had starred in films such as Corporate, Page 3, Aarakshan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Murder 2, 2 States, and The Ghazi Attack among others. On television, he played prominent roles in shows such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Dil Hi Toh Hai, and Anil Kapoor’s 24.
