Google introduces continuous scrolling to the desktop for search results
The technology giant Google is now introducing continuous scrolling in desktop search results. Google first introduced ‘Continuous Scroll’ to mobile search in October 2021, and now it’s here for desktop search results.
‘Continuous Scroll’ is like Infinite Scroll, but it doesn’t go on indefinitely, it stops after a few pages or so – which is why Google doesn’t call it Infinite Scroll, but Continuous Scroll. With continuous scrolling, users can see up to six pages of search results by scrolling down before they see the “More” button to look for further results. On mobile, Google limits continuous scrolling to four pages of search results in one go.
Google says ‘Continuous’ scrolling is now rolling out to desktop search results in the United States.
“Starting today, we’re bringing continuous scrolling to desktop in English in the U.S. so you can continue to see more search results easily. When you reach the bottom of a search results page, you’ll now be able to see up to six pages of results,” Google tweeted.

The change comes at a time when many users complain that Google search results are degrading in quality. In response, Google has made a series of changes, including making search results more visual.
The new feature can also provide more visibility to the sites that did not rank high enough to be on the first page.
