2 soldiers martyred, 4 injured in Pak ceasefire Violation

Two Indian soldiers were martyred and four others were injured on Thursday as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire at (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the official source, Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the LoC in the Nougam sector of Kupwara district on Thursday morning. The injured soldiers were evacuated to Army hospitals for advanced treatment.

In a statement, Srinagar-based defense PRO Col Kalia said, “Pakistan initiated an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation along LoC in Naugam Sector, Kupwara today morning by firing mortars & other weapons. Two soldiers are fatal. Four soldiers injured, being evacuated. The befitting response is being given.”

The forward area is in strict cordon and searches are also launched to monitor if there is an intruder who under the ceasefire violation could have crossed the LoC.

On behalf of this incident, the Army officer said, “Pakistan is having the only motive behind ceasefire violations to push more and more intruders this side before winter sets”. He also added that Indian soldiers are fully prepared to tackle any kind of situation.
