SS Rajamouli’s assistant Ashwin Gangaraju to direct magnum opus 1770

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s assistant Ashwin Gangaraju is all set to helm a period drama, the film titled ‘1770’. The film is based on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s historic novel ‘Anandamath’. Shailendra KKumar, Sujay Kutty, Krishna Kumar B, and Suraj Sharma, the film’s producers, released the film’s poster on social media on the occasion of Vandemataram completing 150 years. The film will be released simultaneously in six languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.

On Wednesday, filmmaker Ashwin Gangaraju shared the motion poster of 1770 on Twitter and wrote, “#1770Movie Announcement Motion Poster @1770Movie (sic).”

The film will be produced by SS1 Entertainment and PK Entertainment. As per the source report, the team will lock the main lead before Dassera, and by Diwali, they will announce the cast of the film. Ashwin along with his team has already started researching the period and trying to create a visual masterpiece that is unique.
