Google To Replace Universal Analytics In 2023 By The Google Analytics 4

Google announced the date of replacing Universal Analytics with their latest site information tool Google Analytics 4 and urged users to move data.

Universal Analytics tool is also known as the Analytics 3 was launched back in 2012. Google Analytics is one of the widely used free tools to monitor a website. It helps website owners to check their website performance, traffic source, and other critical website insights.

People can store their website data in that tool and lots of integration is available for the tool.

During the launch of the tool Universal Analytics tool introduced three new tracking codes to gather more information;  Analytics.js, Google Analytics SDKs, and Measurement protocol. However, as Google continuously works to improve its tools and bring new features, in October 2020 Google introduced the next-gen Google Analytics 4. The tool has more robust features and functionalities that give more power to users.

Now, Google informed people that they are going to sunset Universal Analytics on 1 July 2023. after that date, Universal Analytics won’t process new hits.

For people who are still using Analytics 3, Google urged them to move their data to Analytics 4. In the coming months, Google will announce the final date to shut down Universal Analytics. After that users will not be able to see their Universal Analytics reports in the Analytics interface or access their Universal Analytics data via the API.
