Sony launches the WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones in India: Check price and features

Japanese electronics brand Sony on Wednesday launched Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless active noise canceling (ANC) headphones in India. The wireless headphone is a successor to 2020’s Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. The newly launched headphones bring a new immersive, distraction-free sound experience with noise canceling technology, according to the company.

Sony WH-1000XM5 price and availability in India:

The Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones come with a price tag of Rs. 34,990. However, the company has announced an introductory price of Rs. 26,990 for pre-orders made before October 7. The headphones will be available in two colors in India – Black and Silver.

Sony WH-1000XM5 specifications and features:

The newly launched headphones WH-1000XM5 by Sony have a new design, with a thinner headband and rotating ear cups. The right ear cup has touch controls built-in on the surface area, that can be used to control volume and playback. The headphones are powered by the Integrated processor V1, along with the QN1 noise-canceling processor that promises better performance across the board.

Compared to the WH-1000XM4, the Sony WH-1000XM5 has a smaller 30mm driver, promising to offer natural sound output with a better high-frequency response. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.2, bringing support for multipoint connectivity. As for audio codecs, the WH-1000XM5 has support for AAC, SBC, and LDAC.

Sony claims a battery life of up to 30 hours on a single charge. The headphones also have fast charging support that can net you 3 hours of playtime with a 3-minute charge.
