Ponniyin Selvan’s first single Ponni Nadhi to release on July 31

The much-awaited first single, ‘Ponni Nadhi’, from Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 is all set to be released on July 31 at 6 pm. Music for the film is given by Academy Award-winning musician AR Rahman.

The announcement was made by the production house on social media platforms.

Actor Karthi, sharing the news with pictures, wrote, “Let’s begin our musical journey into the world of Cholas! #PS1FirstSingle coming your way on 31st July at 6pm!”

The makers had recently released a short BTS video which has Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman, and Sivamani seen engaged in the re-recording work. Mani is seen listening to the sounds created by Rahman and Sivamani. The video ends with the announcement of the first single.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is Mani Ratnam’s dream project and is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name. The film has an ensemble cast, which includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Rahman, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sobhita Dhulipala to name a few. The film has been bankrolled by Madras Talkies along with Lyca Productions and is all set to hit screens on September 30 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
