Google To Shut Down Expanded Search Ads- Advertisers Suggested To Create At Least One Responsive Search Ad

Advertisers who use Google Ads to promote their businesses online have a big update. Google will take down the Expanded search ads after June 30, 2022.

Google informed the news through its Ads help forum. There they mentioned that search trends are an ever-changing thing.
As Google is the arch-search engine on the internet and billions of people do searches there each day, advertisers who are likely to promote through searches prioritize the Google Ads most.
Previously, Expanded Search Ads was the primary search ad type amongst most of the advertisers. Later google introduces Responsive Search Ads that were way more convenient in terms of reaching more potential customers. Now, Google has announced that starting from June 30, 2022, only Responsive Search Ads will remain the only search type ads.

According to Google, advertisers who have moved to the Responsive ads from the Expanded Ads experienced 7% more conversions with the same assets and cost per conversion.
Even though, after June 30, advertisers won’t be able to create new Expanded text Ads, nor editing, it will still be served. Advertisers would be able to track their performance and reports. The pause, resume, and remove functionality of the Expanded Ads will also be available.

To pursue this change, Google has advised having at least one Responsive ad in every ad group in their search campaigns by June 30, 2022. Google will also remind the advertisers from time to time sho that they adapt the new Responsive ads.
