Amul shares topical tribute celebrating the success of Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

Popular dairy brand Amul, a topical to celebrate the success of Alia Bhatt's latest biographical drama ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi'. The company shared the artwork on their Twitter handle along with the caption, “The success of Bollywood's new release, Gangubai Kathiawadi…” In it, Alia, as Gangubai can be seen in her iconic pose whilst holding up three slices of bread in her hand. Amul also used witty wordplay on Alia's name with the words, ‘Khalia Bhatter?'.

The actress was overjoyed to receive this special shoutout and took to her social media space to express her excitement. Alia shared the topical on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Oh! My! God!’ (white heart emojis)” She further wrote, “#AaGayiHainGangu (crescent moon emoji)”.

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi' which was released on February 25, Friday opened with a good response at the Indian box office and from the audiences.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film is based on one of the chapters from Hussain Zaidi's book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The film takes the audience on a journey into the life of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi', a young woman who brothels in Mumbai's Kamathipura in the 60s, who emerged as one of the prominent figures in the socio-political scenario. The film narrates the fight of Gangubai to provide a respectable status to the sex workers in society.

Apart from Alia, the film stars also Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Shantanu Maheshwari, Jim Sarbh, and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
