After filing a complaint against Amazon Web Series Mirzapur, Netizens creates a massive buzz on Social Media

Supreme Court has issued a notice to Amazon Prime video and the makers of the web series ‘Mirzapur’. According to the report, the Supreme Court has issued the notice on the basis of a complaint alleging that it was portrayed in a bad light in UP’s Mirzapur district. Moreover, Supreme Court also seeks responses from the OTT platform and series makers.

The complaint was filed by Sujeet Kumar Singh, a resident of Mirzapur, who said the web series makers have shown Mirzapur as a city of goons and adulteresses. In his plea, Sujeet Kumar Singh contended that the Central government should introduce guidelines to prevent the bad portrayal of historical and cultural values of any place.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting had sought an explanation from the streaming giant after it received complaints against the web series.
