Xiaomi Redmi 6 Review Specifications And Honest Opinion

Xiaomi is well-known for delivering budget Smartphones with good hardware. Redmi 6 states that same thing compared to the previous phones.

The Redmi 6 which is the successor of Redmi 5, comes with large size bezels all around the display. The rear side of the Redmi 6 is made up of plastic, and the sides of the phone are curved. The phone is weighing 146gms. The Redmi 6 sports a five-point four five-inch display which makes the Redmi 6 smaller and lighter than the Redmi 5.

The Display:

The Redmi 6 comes with a 5.45 inches PS LCD which is slightly smaller than the Redmi 5. The screen to body ratio is 72.7%, and the aspect ratio is 18:9. The screen resolution is 720*1440 pixels, and the display of that phone is protected by 2.5D curved glass. When it comes to the colors, brightness, and contrast of the screen are pretty good at the in-door condition. At outdoor the display brightness is little bleak, especially in sunlight condition. But overall the display is pretty good.

Software:

This time Xiaomi takes a different approach. Previously Xiaomi’s most of the phones were powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, but in Redmi 6 they used MediaTek Helio P22 processor which is an octa-core processor with Cortex-A53 clocked at 2GHz. The Redmi 6 comes in two storage variants: one is 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, and another is 3GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. It is better than the option was in Redmi 5 of   2GB RAM 16gb inbuilt and 3GB RAM and  32GB inbuilt storage. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB through a microSD card.

Camera:

The Redmi 6 equipped with the dual camera set up at the back. There is a 12megapixel of primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, and the pixels size is 1.25 μm. The depth sensor camera is of 5 megapixels with f/2.2 aperture, and the pixels size is 1.12 μm. For the selfies, there is a 5megapixel front camera. Xiaomi has also introduced EIS (electronic image stabilization), that is incredible on this pricing range in Redmi 6. Besides the usual Photo and Video modes, there are also short Video, Portrait, Square, Panorama, and Manual modes options. Under the good light condition the camera performs very well, but in the low light situation, the quality becomes slight low. The selfies have the same issue it takes good selfies outdoor in daylight but indoor it tempers down a little.

Battery, connectivity, and others:

At the right edge of the phone have the power and the volume button. At the left, there is SIM slots and microSD card slot. The phone has two trays.  One tray has the SIM1 and a dedicated microSD card slots, and the other is for the SIM2. The loudspeaker is at the back of the phone, and the bottom edge only features a micro USB port and a microphone. On the top, the Redmi 6 includes a noise reduction microphone and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, hotspot, A2DP, LE, and micro USB 2.0. A 3000 mAh non-removal battery powers the Redmi 6. That is 300 mAh smaller than the previous Redmi 5. The Redmi 6 doesn’t support fast charging at all.

The base model price of Redmi 6 is Rs. 7,999 and the 3GB, 64GB variant pricing is Rs. 9,499. The phone has many notable features in that price range. There are nothing big changes and improvements from the Redmi 5 to Redmi 6 instead of the camera and other things. Xiaomi is offering dual camera set-up at the back under 10K. So if you don’t want to go above that pricing, you might go with Redmi 6.
