WhatsApp will soon roll out messages with yourself features

Meta-owned popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has started testing a new ‘Messages with yourself’ feature for both Android and iOS users. According to the report by WaBetaInfo, the feature is available for selected Android and iOS beta testers and will soon be launched for everyone with further updates.

A report by WABetaInfo shared a screenshot of the new feature highlighting how you might be able to use it. The report claims that the Message Yourself feature will be rolled out with the 2.22.24.2 beta update on Android.

When you open a WhatsApp chat with your phone number, the app will highlight your personal chat box by adding ‘Message yourself’ as the chat caption. Furthermore, your phone number will be displayed in WhatsApp’s contact list for easier access.

“If you send a message to the chat with your phone number, it will always be synced with your other linked devices because it is no longer an unsupported feature when using multi-device,” according to WaBetaInfo.

In the meantime, WhatsApp has begun beta testing the ability to forward media with caption features. Users can forward images, videos, GIFs, and documents with captions with the new update. The feature is currently available to WhatsApp beta testers for Android users.
