WhatsApp now lets you preview before sending a voice message

Meta-owned platform WhatsApp on Tuesday announced the rollout of an ability to let you preview your voice messages before sending them to your contacts. The update will help you listen to your voice message and see if the audio is fine for sharing over the instant messaging app. If it’s not, you can discard your voice message and record it again for sharing.

According to the report, the voice message preview feature on WhatsApp will work on both individual and group chats. Also, this feature is now rolling out for everyone across the world on iOS, Android, Web, and even Desktop versions of the app.

As per gsmarena, in order to do this you need to press and hold the mic icon as usual in order to record a voice message, then slide up to go into hands-free recording mode. When you’re done, tap the stop button in the center and press play to preview your message. If you’re satisfied with it, hit the send button, and off it goes.

However, it is important to note that while the latest update does allow users to preview voice messages before sending them to their contacts, it does not allow the pausing of voice message recordings. This means that you could not pause the audio recording of your message and resume it after some time.

Although, there’s no information available as to when (or even if, in some cases) WhatsApp may roll out these new voice message features.
